Professor Ilan Katz

Ilan has many years of policy, practice and research experience in parenting and children’s services in the UK and Australia. He started his career as a social worker and manager, working in several local authorities and NGOs in London. He was head of Evaluation, Practice development and Research at the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
Ilan joined the Social Policy Research Centre in January 2005. Ilan has particular expertise in leading large multidisciplinary teams for Government and Non-Government clients focusing on vulnerable and marginalised communities. His research interests include disability, age care, child protection, veterans, justice, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social policy and mental health services. He leads a number of research projects on NDIS policy and practice including the co-design and evaluation of the Blended Payments in NDIS
